The Nkgwete Foundation’s objectives are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), so that we can collectively contribute to a better world and make a difference to humanity at large.
Nkgwete has chosen to focus on the following, based on the needs identified in the UN SDGs:
Basic human needs
Water is life, and a basic human need. Our focus is on providing access to water in rural areas in South Africa and Africa.
Learning and digital skills development
We provide underprivileged schools with computers so that children are exposed to technology, and we train teachers to use tech in the classroom.
Women in tech
We encourage young females to pursue careers in STEM through providing internship opportunities, mentoring and coaching.
Job creation and economic growth
We are committed to creating employment opportunities, as jobs are key to poverty alleviation and economic growth.
